There is a small mountain village about a 45 minute drive into the mountains just west of Dumaguete City here in the Philippines.  This is a unique village because the road you take to get there doesn’t take you to anything except a small preschool building.  In order to get to the village, you have to climb 586 steps straight up the side of the mountain.  It was a workout for me to do once.  The preschoolers who attend the school by the road do it at least once a day.  It doesn’t phase them a bit.  These students come from extremely poor families, but the International Care Ministries orgranization that I’ve been working with this month has helped provide them with a school where they can begin their education.  I had no idea what these kids would be like.  They were nothing less than a delight!  They greeted us with shouts of “hello”, and the fun began!  One of the really cool things about this experience was that I sent a video of them saying hello to my Mom’s kindergarten class back in Iowa, and she had her class write a list of questions for the Filipino students.  It was great to connect two classes across the world!  I think that’s enough talking for now.  I would rather show you just who these beautiful children are!  Enjoy the video!!
