“For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.”
John 1:16 (ESV)
Today is Good Friday, the day my Lord, Jesus Christ, was hanged on a cross in crucifixion. A tale we’ve all heard before. We have all learned of His miracles, his triumphs over temptations, and the amazing parables He taught us. All of which are good. The heart of Jesus is of God, the truest love the world has ever witnessed. It was the same heart, the heart of Jesus, that replaced sin and death with Spirit and life. For this reason, I shout thanks upon thanks and praise upon praise because I have received grace upon grace. Jesus lives, and in all of us is a Spirit of the Lord to save us, and not to doom us.
The Spirit I now carry with me from Jesus’ passing is the same reason I sit here and tell you these things. Through which I have experienced love. The love of a Savior who knelt and washed the feet of His followers. The love of a Savior who would serve the sick, hungry, and poor. The love of a Savior who lived a PERFECT life in righteousness, and died on a cross for my IMPERFECT sins. All of this so that I may live a life in relation with a God who truly, truly loves me.
“It is finished.” He said as all the world paused and Sin left us, and Love filled our hearts. JUST. LIKE. THAT. Did sin leave us. Just like that did the world mourn for Jesus, unbeknownst to them that He would rise a near three days later as Messiah. Thus, fulfilling God’s promise. Thus, showing the world the love that God has for us. For He loves us, He loves us so much. And this love is shown to us on Good Friday, this day.
God has a calling for you, for me, and for all of us. His will on our lives is evident in the things we do and the passion we have for the things we love. That same love is from God, the same God who sent Jesus to live and to die for OUR sins. Through that same sacrifice God gave us a Spirit, and from this Spirit He works in our lives.
This is how I know the calling in my heart to be from God: Because God took my weaknesses and made me see the strength in them. God gave me a heart that can be broken by the brokenness of this world. God loved me to the point of tears in which I felt His heart. God kept me alive through all my suicide and told me I was enough. God took all my fears away and I’m a brand-new man through His salvation. I asked God to take my life, I begged for Him to let me go, and He spoke to me saying,
“I am not done with you.”
God is not done with me, not yet anyway. And so I go, living wholly in the Faith of God for my future serving and loving all that I meet. God gave me salvation on the cross, through the DEATH and the RESURRECTION of Jesus Christ, the Risen Savior. God has called me to live out a purpose, and this purpose is not my own but is a purpose for the Kingdom of Heaven to be known in this world. For the life, sacrifice, and resurrection of Jesus Christ to be known across the world.
Today, several years ago, is the day it was finished, and we now live as witnesses to His great love. God is not done with you. Jesus died for you to live and to love and to serve. And through His death and resurrection, we have been given a spirit to live out these things. My dear friends, Jesus is with us and when we choke on compassion for others, we unknowingly live out His will on our hearts. Live onward, trusting in Jesus and you will never be led astray. He lived and died for our salvation, and God has plans for us to this day. Take up your cross, lead where you are led and follow His calling. Because He, who died on the cross for our salvation, is not done with you.
“And He said to all, ‘If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.’”
Luke 9:23 (ESV)
I wish to take a moment to tell you all of my current struggles. At this moment, I am still around $16,000 short of my goal of $17,017 in order to go on this World Race. Because of my desire and calling, the short amount I’ve raised is demoralizing. But I wish for you all to pray for my strength, and to recognize that God will provide. Though I worry and fear, I will find my strength and confidence in Christ.
So be praying for me, and I would ask for you to pray over giving towards my trip. To follow along on my journey by subscribing to this blog, that you may be kept up to date with all that God will do on the journey.
Hearts will be changed, and lives will be saved. Through the World Race God is going to work in the hearts of man, and I desire for all to help be a part of these amazing miracles God will do through my team and I. To God be the glory.
