Faith here!
Last week, we had our second deadline for fundraising. We needed to have $20,000 raised and last week we were $5,000 short. As we approached needing a big chunk of change, we have been trusting the Lord in His timing and His ways. We are learning more and more that there is not a lot we can do. I’m humbled that we have had so many friends, family, co-workers, and strangers wanting to join us as we go next year. We have felt very encouraged and supported by all who have been praying, checking up on us, and financially giving. I am blown away from people’s sacrifice who are willing to give towards the mission we are called to.
Austin and I want to approach this process in a way where we trust our Heavenly Father to provide and to lead others to join us. Seeing last week and knowing the amount we needed, I prayed for God not only to provide this financial need, but for me to know Him in a deeper way than I ever have before. I am learning to surrender more and more and walk on this thin road to trust He is leading and guiding us.
At the very last hours on Tuesday, He provided over the amount that we needed for this deadline. We now have over $20k and I am just in awe of God’s direction and provision. Am I willing to trust God and know His plan is better than what I need or want? I often want to just do it myself to have that secure and safety net. That is not what God is calling us into. He is calling us to be reliant and dependent on Him alone.
I am very thankful for each person who has given to help us go next year. We leave January 7th to Atlanta. We will spend a few days there for more training and fellowship. Our first stop is Colombia!
