Hey FAM!
We made it to CAMBODIA! It is hard to believe we are already in month 9 and in Asia! This place is incredible and we are already having our hearts touched by the people here.
Cambodia is a country filled with a lot of hurt in recent years, but this makes room for HOPE. Hope brings healing- and we have the ultimate hope and Healer in Jesus!
Faith and I are staying in Siem Reap. This is a city that has a big tourist draw and there are people from all over in the city. We are situated in a guest house just outside of town and it is a true blessing for us.
Our ministry this month consists of pouring into the team we are with as well as teaching English classes and loving on those who are both working at the guesthouse and staying at the guesthouse.
We are learning more and more about our primary ministry and that is loving each other as well through marriage. It is hard for us at times because we want to pour out as much as we can, but we also have learned a lot about the importance and desire we have to be poured into! We have learned a lot about how our minds and bodies want to be in GO mode, but also how important rest is and recognizing that more often than not we see rest as lazy. But with the right heart and motives, rest is so important!
With all of that to say, we are excited to have the opportunity to rest and pour into each other more this month simply because where we are is a bit more conducive for this. *(We will provide a video of where we are staying shortly!)
As always we are learning daily what it looks like to trust God and more often than not we are learning how it is so much different than we expect. Different yes, but not in a bad way. Different in that Gods way includes so much FREEDOM on our end!
Proverbs 16:9 addresses it best stating we make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps. HOW GRACIOUS! We make our plans, and if we are honest, THEY ARE NOT THE BEST AT TIMES! How gracious of our Lord to guide us, and how wise is it for us to follow His guiding.
We are learning that we have plans to do THIS and THAT and THEN THIS and THAT AGAIN, but we have learned how much more productive it is to simply be still and pray. I have shared with the other squad leaders the revelation that we get more accomplished on our knees in prayer and being still and spending time with Him than if we were to go to this meeting and do this or do that….It is backwards and hard for us to comprehend at times, but I have learned that it is true. It takes faith and trust, but I am convinced it is truth.
We will be in Siem Reap this entire month working at the guest house. Please be praying for Faith and I as we continue to fall more and more in love with each other and our Father daily! Pray for the people of Cambodia and that they will see the HOPE OF JESUS and experience the HEALING that is offered through Him! Pray for the teams throughout the country spreading the name of Jesus, that it would fall on fertile soil!
Know that we are also praying for you all back home as well. With all the destruction and confusion at times, what a wonderful HOPE we too have in Jesus! We serve a universal God who is over Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Montenegro, Romania, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, the United States and the rest of the world!! How GREAT IS OUR GOD?! Praise Him!
We would appreciate prayers as well for the future for Faith and I. We desire to be present here, but also recognize this is coming to an end soon. Pray for provision and protection as we will transition back!
(Sneak Peak- we bought our tickets to return DECEMBER 10TH into Greenville 🙂 …just saying…
As always, we love you all and are so appreciative of the support, prayers, and love we have received. We have the best supporters! Thank you all so much and stay tuned for more sporadic updates haha
with love and to His glory,
The Fowlers
