so, this is the first blog ive ever written. ive wanted to write this for the past several weeks, but everytime i sat down to write it i struggled to find the words to say. to be honest, the whole idea of blogging has always seemed a tad bit pretentious to me. nevertheless, i realize the purpose of it as it pertains to the next year and a half of my life.
i guess i should start by explaining exactly what the world race is for those of you who are unaware. in short, the world race is an eleven month trip to eleven different countries. we will work with different organizations in each country but the focus will remain the same: to serve those who cannot serve themselves. for these eleven months, i will live out of a single backpack, and a two person tent will become my new home. i will be going on the july 2012 (1) race. the eleven countries to which i will be traveling are…
