By now you’ve undoubtedly heard about the impact of COVID-19 on the world and our nation. At Adventures in Missions, we, too, have been impacted by this virus.

This decision was not made lightly, and it was made with the safety and security of our participants at the forefront of our mind. While we are all grieving a season that is far from our expectations, we firmly believe this was the best decision for our participants, their families and our ministry partners around the world.

We are sure that you continue to have questions about your upcoming trip. As of today, we continue to assess the impact and spread of COVID-19 in order to determine what is best for your upcoming trip. While we are all uncertain of what the coming weeks will bring, we also know that this, too, shall pass in time. Therefore, we remain confident and hopeful that we will still be able to launch trips this fall.

In light of the impact of COVID-19 on our nation and nations around the world, we have made substantial changes to our World Race August schedule. We believe these changes dramatically increase the likelihood of your trip launching and effectively ministering to those around the world. That being said, we have had to adjust several things in regards to your trip. The adjustments are as follows:

October 2, 2020: Registration

  1. Launch & Parent Event: October 3-4

  2. Training Camp: October 5-14

  3. Racers depart for Field: Following Training Camp

Please hold off on booking travel at this point. We are still working through logistics and timing and do not yet have specifics. We are committed to communicating as soon as we can confirm details. Know that all of these events are still going to take place at our headquarters in Gainesville, Georgia

Additional Changes:

  • Your route and/or the countries on your route: We do not have specifics on how your route is going to change yet. With pushing back your launch window, we are unsure if we will be able to offer the same exact route you signed up for. Our team is eagerly working with our ministry partners to develop your route. We will let you know how this comes together as soon as we have that information available.

  • You will now be attending Training Camp with our October and January routes! You will also be launching at the same time as our October routes. You will now have the opportunity to get to know more World Racers and even more of the body as you equip and prepare for this incredible journey.

We fully understand this is not what you originally signed up for – and, for that, we are incredibly sorry for the inconvenience. We are saddened to make these adjustments, as we deeply value keeping the promises we make to our participants and ministry partners.

That being said, the reality is COVID-19 has impacted all of us in significant ways. We know we are asking you for a great deal of flexibility with this decision. We also recognize this may take you time to sort through on a personal level. Our team is standing by to answer your questions and address any concerns you may have. As we have specifics regarding the implications of these adjustments, our team will reach out with those plans. We know that there are many details to determine: logistical concerns, deadlines, fundraising, and more. Our Admissions team is available via text, call or email, so please do not hesitate to reach out to your advisor. We are grateful for you and are praying for you and your family during this time!
