May Training Camp

Below you will find critical information concerning your Training Camp. READ CAREFULLY. Once you understand all the information below, you can arrange your travel plans and enter that information into your profile at http://adventures.org. If you have questions, do not hesitate to communicate with us in the Admissions Department. We do request that as many of you that can, please drive your own car to Training Camp.  We will need extra transportation during camp.


TRAINING DATES: May 21st- May 29th, 2011.
These dates are now confirmed and are not expected to change again. Please feel free to book your travel for these dates.
TRAVEL INFORMATION
Training will take place in the Copperhill, TN area.

 

Arrival by flight – Saturday, May 21st, before 3pm in Chattanooga, TN.
ARRIVE before 3pm. AIM Staff will meet you at the Baggage Claim and we will direct you from there. Follow signs or ask airport employees to direct you to the Baggage Claim and we will be the big group with oversized backpacks. We'll also have on World Race t-shirts on.

            The AIM bus will leave the airport to camp promptly at 5pm. There is no cost to you for this  shuttle.


Remember, air transportation often includes delays, therefore plan ahead for the unexpected and allow ample time between gate arrival, baggage claim and transportation pickup. You can expect it to take up to one hour from the time your plane arrives to the time you are ready to leave. Therefore, be sure your flight arrives BEFORE 3pm.

We understand that travel to and from training camp can often meet with hiccups along the way. If anything concerning your travel changes or you are unable to book a flight that lands before 3pm, please have these phone numbers handy to let us know.

We realize that flight schedules are not always ideal. Plan on arriving earlier rather than later.

Arrival by car – Saturday, May 21, 5pm, Copperhill, TN
ARRIVE between 5pm and 6pm. Please do not come before that as staff may not be available to welcome and direct you. Driving in Tennessee can be more complicated than you would expect. We recommend you search Google Maps for directions or have a GPS system with you.

Copperhill, TN 37317

 

While this is not our address, it is the location for your training camp. Be prepared for winding mountain roads and pay attention to roads that change names. If you need further directions or you get lost, please be sure you have our phone numbers handy. Also, please make sure your profile page includes a number where we may contact you during your travels.

 

Departure by flight – May 29th  after 2pm
You can book your flight to leave any time after 2pm. We will shuttle you back to the airport in time to make a 2pm flight.

Departure by car – May 29th after 12pm
If you are driving, you may leave as soon as camp has been cleaned. Most often, squad-mates will drive other squad-mates to the airport after camp. If you are driving, we would appreciate your cooperation in this.

 

Lodging and meals are provided
Cost –
The cost of camp is covered in your raised support. Your support account must have a total $3000 before coming to Training Camp.  Your lodging and meals on site are included in the cost of training.
