Hey everyone, long time no see!

For any of you that are wondering “what’s next?” for me, this is the blog for you!  I’ve been back in the States for just about 4 months now, and I wanted to briefly catch y’all up on what I have going on.  Here’s the breakdown:

I got home at the beginning of March, and it definitely was quite an adjustment for me.  I had gotten used to living out of a backpack, moving homes each month, and being around so many people all the time. Even though it was quite a transition, it was so good. I got to spend a lot of time catching up with family and just relaxing.  It was a much needed time of rest.

At the beginning of June I got to fly out to meet the squad at their month 8 debrief. This was really cool because not only did I get to see the girls, but I got to go back to the place where I had debrief while I was on the race AND one of my old teammates was there! It was a great reunion!

Once I got back from Cambodia I headed to Navasota, TX.  I’ve been able to nanny 2 kiddos this summer at Camp Allen, and it’s been so great!  Camp has been a large part of my testimony, so it’s been a blessing to be here again during this time of transition.  The summer has been full of swimming, lunchables, dancing, and looking at Pokemon cards. What a good time!

C-squad is currently in month 10 of the race, which means I will be flying out for final debrief in August.  I will meet the squad in the Philippines one last time before they all head back to the States as well. It feels like not long ago I was finishing up my journey on the World Race, so it blows my mind that c-squad is getting close as well!  Squad leading these women has been such an incredible experience that I wouldn’t trade for anything. I’m excited to see what the next season looks like for these women!

In September I will be packing a bag and heading to Spain for a month.  I, along with 2 other women, will be hiking the Camino de Santiago. This is essentially a 500 mile pilgrimage following “the way of St. James.”  I am excited to experience a new culture, meet other pilgrims, have quality time with 2 good friends, push myself in new ways, carry everything I need (weighing less than 20 pounds) on my back, and see what the Lord will teach me during this time.  This will be a great way to end the season that the World Race has been for me, as well as reflect on how I plan to start a new season.

So you might be wondering what this “new season” is going to look like.  Once I’m back from the Camino I’M MOVING TO DENVER, COLORADO! This plan has been in the works for over a year now, and I can’t believe that it’s finally becoming reality!  I will be living in a house with 4 women that were on my original World Race squad. A few of my old squad mates already live in the area, and many more are moving there as well!  I will be part of a team starting up a new organization called Denver Gap Year. The program is designed to cultivate our participants’ passion for change while guiding them through a transformational journey of identity and purpose.  It is for students just out of high school, and they will live in a vibrant community, serve local non-profit organizations, engage in discipleship classes, and serve overseas on a short term mission trip. Check out the website HERE to learn more about it.  I’m really looking forward to the community that I will have in Denver and to be part of what the Father has planned for the city!

This will likely be my final blog post on here.  I really appreciate everyone that has followed my journey the past 2 years and supported me along the way.  Don’t be shy to send me a text or email if you have any other questions! Love you guys!
