I haven’t been able to post pictures on my blog yet, so here are some pictures! I’m going to highlight my favorite picture from each country so far. I hope you enjoy this!

This first photo is from Swaziland. These kids are all siblings, but from different mothers. Polygamy is very common in Swaziland, and kids were surprised to find out I had only 1 mother and 1 father. I created a special bond with Patience, she’s in the uniform on the left, and we wrote each other letters before I left. One of the reasons I love this picture so much is how it accurately portrays Nsoko. The dirt was dark, red, and everywhere. We had beautiful sunny days, but we also had cloudy days, and those were my favorite because hey reminded me of home.

The next picture is from Lesotho. Lesotho was similar, but different from Swaziland. Mountains surrounded us, and the sun was bright and hot since we were coming into summer. After working with kids it was refreshing to make friends our own age at the National University of Lesotho. This picture is from the first day we toured the campus. Shea and I had already explored at this point, but it was still so fun to have the students show us all their favorite spots. We toured the dorms, the boys played basketball, and we ended the day with popcorn back at our house. I loved this month, and I still talk all my African friends.

I know we haven’t finished our time in India yet, but I want to show you my favorite picture so far. This picture was taken on our rooftop on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. On Thanksgiving we went to a wedding, so we all planned to get together on Saturday and eat dinner together. Sweet Zahli spent the afternoon decorating the roof, and she surprised us all when we brought our plates of rice upstairs. She used our scarves as place cards, and put palm leaves on the table. It was the best Pinterest Thanksgiving we could do in India. The sweet time we all had together made us excited for how special Christmas will be.
