Hello!! I am so excited to be apart of The World Race! My name is Audrey Powell and I am 22 years old. I just graduated from Asbury College with a degree in History and a minor in Art. My goal in college was simply to graduate, and if you know me, it was a long bumpyroad but it’s finally done! Many people ask me if I want to teach history and the answer is, “no!” I don’ t know what I want to do in life and I have no idea what God is going to call me to. Luckily, I have an absolutely amazing family who supports me in anything!

I am the youngest of three kids and I love being the baby of the family! I grew up in a small town called Wilmington in Ohio. My brother is 7 years older than me and is married to a wonderful woman, Jody. They have one little boy named Brayden who is, seriously, the cutestkid ever!! My sister is my best friend and only 16 months older than me. (I was a suprise) She has lived in Atlanta for the last few years and loves it there. My parents….they are the best parents I could have ever asked for! I have been so unbelievably blessed!

The reason that I decided to apply for the World Race was because I really felt like God was calling me to be placed out of my comfort zone and stretched. Another reason is because I want to make a difference. I want to experience things I wouldn’t in the USA and meet people who so desperatly need God. This probably sounds really stupid, but one night I was watching American Idol and it was Idol Gives Back night. I saw Randy and Simon with these kids in Africa, talking with them and playing with them, and felt such a sense of longing. I longed to be there….not to just give them mosqito nets, but to tell them about the amazing love I have found in an amazing man!

I am thrilled to be part of this team and can’t wait to see what God has in store for us all!!
