My squad (G-Squad), as well as the squad who just finished their first month (I-Squad), are in Antigua, Guatemala. Yesterday, we decided to go on a squad outing together to hike one of the volcanoes around this area. We ended up choosing to hike Pacaya. For some reason we thought this hike wasn’t going to be all that bad…after all, G-Squad has hiked the Great Wall of China! Boy, were we in for a surprise!
Just to give you an idea of what we had to contend with; cooled lava rocks that not only slid out from under your feet but also cut any part of the body exposed to them, extreme winds, a two hour hike up-hill the entire way and avalanches of lava rock that when hit not only cut you but give you quite the bruise.
I am glad I can say I hiked a volcano because it was quite the experience…I’m also glad that I can say I will never hike one again!
The horses some pf us rode to get to the volcano we climbed
The view of the lake from my horse
Me and my horse…look at how small it was!!!

The volcano across from us erupting!
As far as ministry goes this month…my team still does not have a contact here in Guatemala. We will be staying in Antigua for now looking for ministry opportunities. We will be spending our time here asking the Lord (ATL) what he wants us to do each day. If you could be praying for my team and where God wants to lead us, that would be great! Love you all!
