As I have blog-stalked different blogs from past and present World Racers, a common theme on each blog is about laying down expectations. I do have expectations about my Race. And just in case any of you were interested in what these expectations are, you may read them for yourself.

1. I expect to see God move in my heart, in my teammates hearts, and in the hearts of those we meet.

2. I expect to be changed forever.

3. I expect to miss my family like crazy.

4. I expect to be amazed and awe-struck at God's wondrous creation.

5. I expect to have days when I am hot, sweaty, uncomfortable, nervous, bug-bitten and sore, and to still be smiling at the end of the day because it's all part of this grand adventure!

6. I expect to love my teammates.

7. I expect that there will be days when my teammates drive me crazy. And I'm sure I will do the same to them.

8. I expect to fall in love with the people of each nation that we visit.

9. I expect to be content with the little that I have, and to give joyfully when the opportunity arises.

10. I expect to eat food that I would NEVER normally try.

11. I expect to depend on God.

12. I expect to have my faith strengthened.

13. I expect to cry tears of sorrow and tears of joy.

14. I expect to laugh a lot.

15. I expect to get sunburned.

16. I expect that my 11-months on the Race will be one of the most challenging and rewarding time of my life thus far.

I am beyond excited about what God has in store for me in the coming year. I know that this is going to be hard, but it's also going to be worth it.

"Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest."
