At the beginning of the year, I received a new team. I’m just now writing a blog about it. Yep, slightly behind writing this but better later then never, right? Let me introduce you to the six beautiful women I am privileged to call my teammates/sisters for the next six months.

Dani is my team leader hailing from AZ. She is a passionate, servant-minded leader and is constantly seeking God’s will for herself and the team. She looks after us so well that sometimes she forgets to look after herself (it’s good thing she has us with her to remind her to take care of herself). She can be quite goofy and when she is exhausted, she becomes even more goofy then usual. She’s fun to be around.

Carly is from California. She has is hilarious and is slightly obsessed with cats. Her puns kill me. Oh, and she plays the ukulele. How cool is that? Under her funniness, is a quiet strength that runs deep. She is excellent at observing and is able to share insight that others might miss. She is also a talented photographer, so make sure you check out her blog for some amazing pics.

Christina is another California girl. I’ve been amazed at the wisdom that she shares. She is wise beyond her years. Her heart is so tender; it is beautiful to see. She is a natural encourager and a joy to be around. She is a bold witness for Christ and so fun to be around. And she also is a Jane Austen fan (!).

Claire comes from Delaware. She has a huge heart for the hurting and hopless. At our last ministry site she was constantly surrounded by children or women. The language barrier didn’t matter at all. By day 2 of ministry, she was already speaking Khmer phrases. She challenged me to learn Khmer too. Claire has had a rough start to the 2014, but she is courageously pressing forward, trusting that God is good. She is an inspiration to me.

Laura is from Georgia. She loves animals and has a talent with working with them. One of her passions is to go to Africa and it will be fun to experience the fulfillment of this dream with her in 4 short months. She is passionate about social justice and it was amazing to see how hard worked this past month against the injustice we encountered. She is a common sense type of girl but can also be quite funny. She’s definitely an asset to the team.

Kristen is a Pennsylvania girl. She has much insight and has a bee-yew-too-ful singing voice. She isn’t as outspoken as others on the team, but when she speaks, she is worth listening to. Her heart of compassion was evident this past month as we worked with street women and children.

Seven unique girls, from seven different walks of life all united by the love of our Savior.

We are Team Phoenix.
