Guess what?
My team has had a route change! Back in Cambodia, our leaders informed the squad that we were undergoing a route change and would be going to Botswana, Africa instead of Mozambique, Africa. My cousin Angie runs a home for boys called Beacon of Hope in Mozambique, and I had been hoping that my team would be placed there for the month. When the news about the route change came, I was extremely disappointed. Of all the countries on the route, Mozambique was one of the ones I was most looking forward too. I bore the news as best I could, but started praying that we would undergo another route change back to Mozambique.
As each month passed, the route stayed the same. We left Asia for Africa and still there were no changes. I knew Angie had requested my team but as far as I knew we were still headed to Botswana. Then at the beginning of this month, Dani my leader randomly asked me a question about Angie. Instantly my suspicions were on high alert, but then she said nothing else about it. Later on in the month, Lincoln, one of the squad leaders, asked me another question about Angie. But again, then he didn’t say anything else about it.
Last week, Dani made a team announcement. “There has been another route change,” she said. “We will not be going to Botswana… we are going to Mozambique where we will be working with Beacon of Hope!” To say that I was excited would be an understatement. I was ecstatic!
On May 31st, my team will be traveling to Mozambique to stay with Angie. We have our visas and I am so ready to see Angie and her family. God is so good to me! It’s going to be an amazing month. 🙂
