11. Moto bikes everywhere! I have never seen so many motos in my life. The streets are filled with them!
10. Afternoon walks through dried out rice paddies.
9. Being surrounded by the village children as we walked through the neighborhood. These precious littles grabbed hold of our hands and accompanied us for the remainder of our walk.
8. Being invited into the villagers homes as we walked by their house. These people live in abject poverty and yet they still insisted on serving us food.
7. Being served dragon fruit as a “normal” fruit, and realizing that apples and oranges are considered exotic fruits in Cambodia.
6. The Ice-Cream-Man serving ice cream in bread. Who needs cones when you can serve ice cream in a bun?
5. Being warned by a fellow Western not to partake of the above ice cream, because it is known by foreigners as “Hepatitis on stick.”
4. Looking out across roof tops in Phnom Penh and seeing monkeys playing on the roofs. A monkey family lived on the roof next door to the hostel we were staying at.
3. Walking through the red-light district of Phnom Penh at one o’clock in the morning, talking and praying for the young women caught up in in the sex industry.
2. Witnessing a street boy demonstrate how he sniffs glue.
1. Meeting young men and women on fire for the Gospel. At first, Cambodia seemed like such a dark place especially with its recent genocide, but then BAM, God showed us so many wonderful ministries at work there. Light is shining in Cambodia and God is moving in the young people.
