The instruction that God gave me as I came on the race was “heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out demons, freely you have received freely give.”  Many times I have prayed for people and nothing has happened.  Many times I have expected a radical transformation and a minute difference was made.
Whether or not people are healed is not upon me, what is upon me is my response.  Here are some testimonies of healings that took place during our time in Mozambique.
Rosetta
Rosetta is a beautiful teenage girl who was supported by the orphanage.  She lived with her mother just down the path from the home and helped out by preparing meals and looking after the children.  One day Rosetta did not show up to work and we were told that she was sick.
Peter, our contact, asked for volunteers to go with him to pray for Rosetta, Megan and I quickly obliged.
As we walked up to Rosetta’s home we saw her lying on a mat outside.  She was huddled under a blanket which was unusual due to it being very very hot.  Rosetta could barely move and was fatigued from being sick.  She had a fever, could not keep down food, and could not function in anyway.  Her family could not afford to take her to the hospital, let alone buy medication.  Rosetta needed healing; she could not go to a pill or trust doctors to take care of her.  God was her only hope, her only answer.  Peter, Megan and I prayed for Rosetta and we walked away with only having faith that she was healed, we had no immediate physical evidence.
The next day during our morning prayer we found out that Rosetta was up and walking around and doing much better.  Two days after praying, Rosetta was back at the orphanage helping out as if nothing had been wrong.  Rosetta’s joy and life was back in her eyes, she had been restored.  Glory to God for the healing!  Thankfully God does not need medication or doctors, although He uses them, otherwise Rosetta’s story could have been much different.
Young Man At Church
One Sunday we attended a church service in a neighboring village.  Lucas, Shannon and I had prayed for a few people without any immediate signs of healing.  Earlier that morning I had been reading in the Word about how the apostles spoke and change immediately happened, they prayed for healing and healing immediately happened.  In that moment the scripture came to me, “ask and you shall receive…..you have not because you ask not.”
Being somewhat annoyed and frustrated that immediate healings were not being experienced I put a demand on the Lord.  I prayed that God would be faithful and honor His word.  I reminded God that He said that He is not a respecter of persons, which I take as what He fulfills for one He will fulfill for another.  Then I specifically asked for immediate healings.
The young man we were praying for a problem with his finger that he could not move it or feel it.  He walked away from the front where we were praying without checking to see if he was healed.  Lucas, Shannon, and I were all watching the young man as he walked back.  Suddenly, the man grew a huge smile on his face as he looked amazed at his hand.  He held up his hand to his friends showing them his functioning finger and then turned to us grinning, holding up his hand.
Take that for immediate healing!
Babies
Megan and Christy were able to go to a local hospital near our village in Mozambique and pray for the patience there.  The first day they prayed for babies that were very sick.  Afterward, Megan and Christy noticed changes in the babies’ countenance.
A day or two later the girls got to go back to the hospital to visit those who they prayed for.  One baby was being released from the hospital that day.  Fever was gone, strength was back, and the baby was happy.

Jeffrey
God provided another opportunity to pray for someone to receive healing, Jeffrey.  Again, Peter asked for people to escort him to a neighboring village where his close friend Jeffrey needed prayer.  Again, I jumped at the opportunity, along with Kayla and Shawndell.
When we arrived at Jeffrey’s home we saw him sitting uncomfortably outside.  Jeffrey invited us into his home which was about 10 x 5 in size.  We followed Jeffrey as he drug himself into his home and prayed for complete healing.
After praying we headed outside and Jeffrey explained more about what he was inflicted with.  Jeffrey had seven or eight boils the size of golf balls on his body.  This was causing him a great deal and pain and was restricting him from doing day to day activities.
Within a couple of days we learned that Jeffrey was doing much better and within a week his boils were completely gone.  Praise the Lord for His healing and comfort.
These were some of the testimonies of God healing His people while we were in Mozambique.  The great thing about God is that His healing is not just for Mozambique, it is for everyone.  Another great thing is that He is not just calling me to “heal the sick, raise the dead, and cast out demons.”  God is calling you too, He deserves a response.
