Ÿ Travel to Mozambique from Malawi: Only 30 hours, 4 mini-buses, 1 hotel, no extra fees, and God’s grace! Seriously, a great travel day!
Ÿ Living Conditions: We are blessed to be sleeping in a house rented for us. We sleep on our superb sleeping pads enclosed by a stunning mosquito net. Occasionally we are visited by a few rats and spiders and awakened by the village children laughing (or club music depending on the day.) Bucket showers and bathroom are all out back, lit by a lantern at night. There is some electricity but we save that for the owners. We are blessed!
Ÿ Toilet (yes, it gets its own bullet point): Actually, we have a pretty high-tech toilet. Although classified as a squatty-potty, it was created on a slant in order to pour water down after elimination for a clear, clean flush.
Ÿ Prayer Focus: Pray for healing, restoration, prosperity, provision, finances, clean water (since we are in the rainy season), love, and for God to show up in a new way. Due to the sugar factory generating jobs, many people have moved to this area. With that brings different lifestyles and beliefs such as prostitution and witchcraft. Please pray against these things as they bring various health issues and even death.
