Faces
I’ve seen your faces before
I’ve seen the hurt
I’ve seen the pain
I’ve seen your faces before
O Fatherless generation
Eyes of despair
Lives without hope
I’ve seen your faces before
Your stories run through my head — all
different yet the same
Your cries echo in the inner most part
of my heart
I’ve seen your faces before
Your smiles stop me in my tracks
The twinkle in your eyes capture my
soul
Your laughter pours life into my bones
I’ve seen your faces before
My heart breaks for you. For I love you with a love unspeakable,
but you have a need that I cannot supply.
I surrender you to the Lord.
If I, an earthly and sinful person,
can see and know your hearts how much more your Father in Heaven?
For He formed and shaped you in your
mother’s womb and predestined you for this time. He is your Helper (Ps. 10:14), He relieves you (Ps. 146:9) and will do justice in account
of you (Ps. 10:18) for He is the Father of the Fatherless.
God see’s your face!
I now have to leave you, just as I
have left the faces in the past.
Know that I’m taking you in my heart for you have changed my life.
I will remember your faces
forevermore!
