We arrived in the DR late Saturday evening after an adventurous day of travel.
Friday my team took a mini-semi truck to meet four other teams in Port a Prince, Haiti; transportation # 1. Saturday early we boarded a school bus which would take us to our charter bus ( Good job logistics team, way to get an air conditioned charter bus!! thank you!! ); transportation #2. We were on our way traveling smoothly through the boarder with little difficulty to our next destination; transportation #3. Apparently, however, there are things too big for a charter bus to conquer. So as we soon as we started up a particular hill we just as fast started going backwards down the hill. Luckily, there was another charter bus kind and strong enough to join on to continue with our route; transportation # 4. Due to the change of buses there was a change of schedule, so we were late to our next stop which the bus left us. Through the grace of God, our AMAZING logistics team, and our contact Emily we jumped on another charter bus which took us to another bus station in quick time; transportation #5. Finally we boarded two small buses which took us to our home in the DR; transportation #6. Gotta love travel days!!
Here in the DR all four teams, about 24 people, are sharing a house. It’s awesome!!! When I found out that we were going to be sharing a house I can’t lie, was not excited but I gave it to the Lord and chose into close community and the Lord has blessed our house. We are living in a way I never knew existed and the community is powerful. What a pleasure it is to live, serve, and worship in a home with 23 other adults who are on fire and in love with God!
For our ministry we are working with a mighty woman of God named Selenda. Selenda is in charge of a church and is involved with the children of the community, ministers in homes, and is a huge influence in her community. It is such a blessing to partner with Selenda. Selenda is an answer to my prayers. She is a mighty intercessor and I wish I could spend every moment with her.
Thank you for all of your prayers and your support! Continue to pray for our ministry and that our group continue to grown in unity with each other in God. I think and pray for all of you often, thank you for giving me this amazing opportunity!!
More to come soon!
