A day in Bolivia we spent out on the salt flats. This massive expanse of land covered in salt is beautiful during the day and even more beautiful at night as the sunset reflects shades of the rainbow and the night stars come out. The stars are the only reason I would stay up late at night, and there’s one constellation in particular that I am always able to spot. Orion. More specifically I can always spot his belt. It was on this night in the middle of the salt flats I was able to capture the most prominent stars of the constellation.

The constellation is a reminder to me of the Armor of God.
Romans 13:12 says, “The night is almost gone, and the day is near. Therefore let us lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.”
The full armor of God talked about in Ephesians 6:10-17 includes:
- The belt of truth
- The breastplate of righteousness
- The gospel of peace
- The shield of faith
- The helmet of salvation
- The sword of the Spirit
I am reminded when seeing it to be prepared in this way against the enemy. To protect myself through the word of God. And I am reminded that the Lord has prepared each one of us for this world and his word gives us all the wisdom that we need to take on the day.
A Christian stands out in a room full of people because, unbeknownst to them, the Christian has on an armor of light which is not easily hidden.
