2 Corinthians 5: 20
says, “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his
appeal through us…

In middle school I led a small group on this verse. I looked
up the word ambassador online and tried my best to explain the verse as a whole.

It wasn’t until when I got into college I understood what
the word ambassador truly meant.

I was a Southern Ambassador for Georgia Southern University.
I gave tours to perspective and transfer students and loved it so much. We’d
walk backwards around campus telling stories and facts about GSU. I
would also work open houses at the school and speak about our summer school
program, and travel to recruit students as well.

When we would train as Southern Ambassadors, we were taught,
“Welcome to Georgia Southern, I am Georgia Southern.

Celebrating Shelley’s Birthday!

I was the first person that students and parents would meet
when they stepped onto campus. I was the face of the school, from what they
knew. They heard my stories, my perspective, what my college experience was
like. I was representing the whole student body.

I know many things about Georgia Southern that most students
don’t know. Major facts, small facts, population, campus history, what each
building is, sports, etc. I loved to share my stories and the campus history
too. It wasn’t something I had to think much about, it just came naturally for
me.

And this morning it hit me, that’s what it means to be an
ambassador for Christ. We represent him.

Welcome to the Kingdom, I am the Kingdom. Welcome to Jesus,
this is what he looks like. No doubt about it, I am the Kingdom and God brings
the kingdom with me wherever I go.

So when we go and talk with these university students, we’re
representing Christ. He is on our breath, in our smiles, radiating off of us.
They say we are beautiful, but it’s not us, its Jesus that is beautiful inside
of us.

Day two on Insanity… can you see the sweat?
