After that night of grieving, I was lead to pray for people. I was confused at first because it was mostly those who were standing in front of me, beside me, or behind me. So I thought that it was just me thinking I needed to pray over them.

But they wouldn’t get out of my head; they were always on my mind. So, I realized it was the Lord who wanted me to pray for them and I needed to obey. So, I did.

One night, God put a squad mate, Grayson, on my heart. He was sitting right in front of me. I tried to blow it off, but couldn’t. I had nothing to say to him, but knew I needed to lay hands on him and pray. As I laid hands on him, words started pouring out of my mouth. Once again, I don’t remember what I said.

Later that week, he explained to me how much it meant to him. He said that was exactly what he needed to hear.

See what happens when we obey God? If I wouldn’t have spoken those words over him, who would have?

A Night with the Girls

One night the girls from my squad got together for bonding. I don’t know how it all started, but one by one each of them began to share their deepest darkest secrets. These girls were throwing their baggage into a big pile, spilling their guts, saying things they’ve never imagined telling anyone.

We had only known one another for a few days. It’s crazy to me how open these girls were. It was from the Lord.

One would open up about their sin which would lead others to be vulnerable about the same one they had. We cried, laughed, rejoiced, and received freedom.

That is what the Kingdom of God looks like. We all come together and rejoice, dance, and laugh in his freedom.

Our squad leader had a vision of all of us standing on the battle field each with a gun in our hands pointing out towards the world. We were ready to fight. And so, our chant the rest of the week became, “We have freedom, now we fight.”
