This month our ministry is teaching English. We’re working
at a community center Our contacts are great! They heard a two
letter word from the Lord three years ago, “Go. And they did.

They moved from everything they had and knew with their
three kids to Gua Musang, Malaysia. The state we are in is predominantly
Muslim. The women here wear the cover up over their heads, but it doesn’t cover
their faces. They dress very modestly wearing longs pants and short sleeves,
including men. The Malay people are a mix of Chinese, Indian, and Thai along
with the Indigenous people.

Celebrating Andrew’s 21st Birthday, October 3rd. We are team Restore 61!

Christianity is not practiced here and it is not welcome.
The ministers came with no contacts, no friends, and no place to live. They
prayed and prophesied over this land and God made a way.

They started their Center which teaches English and good character.
Since they can’t share the gospel, they strive to live a life of Christ. Their
family values and life looks completely different than others. The center if
filled with the Holy Spirit and people can feel the difference when they walk
in.

During the day we home school their three kids 12, 11 and 6. We each take turns on teaching the subjects, but we
don’t teach much. They read through their workbooks and do the worksheets;
we’re just here for help. The subjects include Language Arts, Science, Math,
History and Geography. The other subjects without workbooks include Tennis,
Golf, Photography/Videography, Character Building, Computer Graphics, Guitar, Music, Spanish and whatever
else we want to teach them.

In the evenings we teach English classes to the community
whether it’s young kids or adults, two teachers per class.

We are excited to be a part of the ministry in loving the
people here. We affect the environment everywhere we go and we bring the Spirit
with us. God is using us this month to bless the center and the people here.
We are their 8th World Race team (the number changes daily), they
have teams come each month.

That’s me delivering the cake to the birthday boy, Andrew.

So far I have taught the older kids Math and Launguage Arts and the 6 year old Science. They have a book to follow along, so I really just read
it with them and help them when they need it. I also had Character Building
with the older kids. I had no idea what this meant, so I planned on having
them sit silently for 45 minutes watching me eat without speaking or moving.
That sure would have sure built some character in them. Instead, I taught them
magic tricks with cards and they loved it. I could see the character building
inside!

The evening classes are tough. Sometimes we have
big classes and not enough teachers, sometimes we have small classes and no one
talks. They also have workbooks, so we just follow along in those and improvise
with games. We take a lot of breaks.

They also have a soccer field nearby with tennis courts and
a track around the field, Ally and I have been walking each morning and enjoy
our time to exercise.
