We made it to where we’ll be living for the month. It is just how I described it. We’re overlooking a river and the bridge is in sight. The mountains are surrounding us.

We’re staying with the pastors family. Our translator for the month, Samuel the pastors son 21, only knows some English. So, we won’t be preaching much.

We live at the church. We have two rooms, one big one for the girls to stay in with a table to eat, another for the boys. We have two squatty potties and a shower, real shower.

It’s so humid here our room is always moist. Whenever we walk inside the moisture hits you right in the face and it feels like you just turned off the shower. Our things always feel damp, so I keep my clothes inside my pack to keep them dry and flip my pillow each night to sleep on the dry side.

We have tea in the morning at 8, which tastes like burnt milk. We then have breakfast, which they call lunch, at 9. Breakfast consists of rice, curry potatoes, some corn sauce, pickled salsa, and chips. It’s great and very filling.

They don’t eat lunch here, so we have snack around 2. Mostly donuts or chipote. Then dinner is at 7. Dinner consists of rice, curry potatoes and beans, corn sauce, pickled salsa, and chips. We feel so blessed to have chips and salsa this month and we love them! It also hasn’t gotten to the point where we’re tired of eating the same thing eat meal yet.

We have a schedule this month, something we are not used to. We are also asked to share if the food is okay or not, the want to know our opinions, they want to serve us. So, we love being able to do that! We have shared about the tea, so they gave us instant coffee mix to have with snack. I don’t think they understand about us not wanting the tea for breakfast yet.

It seems like the normal weather here is sunny in the morning until around 2, then it rains and is dreary the rest of the day.

The sun shines down on us in the morning. I look out our window during breakfast and see the never ending mountains and trees. We’re in the middle of the jungle here.

The mountains that surround us are the ones we climb each day for ministry. Talk about exercise.. that’s what we’ll do all month, hike!! We cross over the bridge and into the jungle through the trails to find houses and go to villages.

World Race teams have already come here and preached the gospel. So, we are here to pray, to water the seeds planted and til the soil.

So far, we’ve gone to houses of people that go to the church. The have a big hike just to come to church, but it’s a beautiful view!

Many people talk about ghosts and spirits here. That’s what we have prayed against at each house. We’ve asked God to take over, for the light to come and the darkness to flee. Sometimes we stand overlooking a village and proclaim Jesus name loud and clear.

We pray, scream, shout all claiming the village as the Lords. I love that God has put me here in this beautiful place to proclaim his great name to Nepal.
