Prayer is something I have learned a lot about this semester. Of course, I haven’t learned it all and by no means am I an expert. But, there is something about praying that I find deepness in with the Lord. There are times when praying, I can feel someone else speaking, my mouth is just moving and words are coming out… That's the Holy Spirit.
I know this is only the beginning of what the Lord is going to activate inside of me within this next year.

I recently heard a sermon about prayer. The college minister, Myles Welch, presented two ideas about it. There is abiding prayer and asking prayer. I'd like to add another idea, intentional listening prayer.
I have heard the word abide/abiding several times throughout college. I had a friend who would say it constantly, but I never understood it.
John 15:5 says, “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, it is he that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”
And so Myles went on to explain what abiding is. When we abide, we are developing a nearness to God that transforms us into his likeness.
So, for me to finally understand abiding, I have put it in several ways. We must abide in God in order to be like him. In order for us to bear fruit, we have to abide, draw near, to the Lord. When we are near to God, we become like him. Without God, we will not do anything good.
Can I say this enough or in any different way for it to make sense to you?
