This month has been full of surprises, anticipation, excitement, disappointments, and everything in between. We started the month out with a week long debrief to cover any questions or situations that needed to be settled from previous months. This is also the designated time in this journey where new leaders are appointed and teams are shuffled.
…then came the hard news…
Our route had yet again changed. The little changes in the past really had not bothered me much. Why should it matter if we change countries I had never been to before? This time was a bit different. Our original route was taking me back to East Africa and the country I was most excited for, KENYA!!! (For those who don’t know, Kenya is where I previously spent and year of my life and quickly became my second home.) This was a place I would understand the culture and language. Sadly, due to safety reasons I will not be returning, at least these 11 months. Our previous next three countries were Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda. Now we will be in Swaziland, South Africa, and China.
Needless to say that was hard news to digest on top of all the other changes that were happening. I fully understand that God is sovereign and more than faithful during these times. But it confused me. Someone asked me the challenging question of if I had never seen Kenya on one of the routes would I have still come on the World Race. My answer was no way!!! I can see how God baited me on this journey, even if it is not exactly what I expected. I know that I have so much more to learn.
…so here I am…
This is Nepal. It’s hard to believe that this is real life sometimes! We have started our ministry for the month which consists of working with a trekking company and doing evangelism and street ministry in villages 5 -6 hours outside of the city. The people here are beautiful and eager to hear the words we have to share. We are working with two other teams this month. Pray for us as we do our best to make an impact during this short time we have here.
Financial Update.
I am $4900 away from hitting my final deadline. I have until January 1st to reach this amount. This means if 100 people will give a one time gift of $50, I WILL BE FULLY FUNDED. (And just as a little inspiration, my Birthday is the 21st of this month.)
