I spent a lot of time growing up in a rock climbing gym, so I heard this a lot:
“You’re almost there”
“Move your hand up one more”
“You got this”
“Keep looking up”
“Just one more move”
“You’re there!”
And one of the scariest things to be told when you have trust issues and you’re hanging 200 feet in the air
“Lean back and trust me”
“I’ve got you”
I had a hard time trusting my mentors for a while, but once I started trusting them and just leaning into what they had for me, I began to grow and become more confident in lots of different aspects of my life.
Our relationship with God is a lot like the ones I have with my amazing mentors; God is always here to support us and tell us he’s got us, and we don’t have anything to worry about.
The longer we trust Him and lean into what he is pouring into us the more confident we become.
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”
– Psalm 56:3
