Firstly – The World Race?
The World Race is an 11 month missions trip / intensive discipleship program which moves throughout 11 countries during the time. It is truly something I have been called to, and am so expectant for what is to come!
Now – Who Am I?
Well, let’s put this rather simply with eleven fast facts for eleven countries in eleven months!:
1. My name is Ashleigh (just in case you didn’t see it at the top of this blog page by some miracle), an extroverted-introvert.
2. I live in Johannesburg, South Africa.
3. I am currently in my final year of studying architecture at the University of the Witwatersrand.
4. I am 21 years old, soon to be TWENTY TWO in a few days!
5. TEA. Literally just one word that makes my heart absolutely melt – yes, I may be a bit obsessed.
6. I enjoy journalling, along with making the actual journals myself.
7. Is it okay if I still love watching Barbie Princess movies?
8. I have such a passion for children. WOW are they cute! – I therefore serve in the Childrens Church ministry at my local church, as well as coach hockey to 9-11 year olds at a local hockey club.
9. I have a serious issue when it comes to packing lightly – I mean, what if I need that TOO? – yes, the Lord is definitely going to humble me and teach me in this area for this trip.
10. LOVE exploring cities and being able to see the art in the way it is built up .. but also absolutely love being able to just get away from the hustle and bustle for a bit and head to the mountains or to the bush – best of both worlds!
11. My heart belongs to the One who gave His heart for me.
So now that you know a bit about me, I cannot wait to journey with you by being able to share my thoughts and experiences, as well as the work that God is doing in and through me! – so expectant for what is to come!
