And just like that, month two is over.
It’s crazy saying that… I’m already leaving Botswana, I feel like I just arrived here.

That’s one of the best things about the race. You get the opportunity to spend a month with some of the most amazing people you’ve ever met… Eleven times! I never thought about how hard good byes would be when I signed up. But let me tell you, they are hard and they suck.
But I also find excitement in them. With every goodbye, you get a new adventure and a chance to meet more life impacting people. At the end of this, I will have friends all over the world and that’s absolutely incredible.

I believe there’s vulnerability in allowing complete strangers into your life knowing they will leave in a month. Without knowing us crazy American’s, they open up their lives and allow us to see the way they live. They trust us with their culture, traditions, and ways of ministry. They love Christ enough to love complete strangers. They believe in our mission enough to trust us to help them grow, not hinder them.

This month, I met people I will never forget. People who changed my life constantly, even to to the very last day.
Botswana is one of the most peaceful countries you will ever visit. The locals take pride in kindness, it’s a place where greeting someone should always come first and it’s never hard to find a smile. It’s a place where combis drivers (taxi’s) will teach a crazy American how to say “chicken” in Stswana. (Coco) A place where Laurence, the gentleman whose been driving you around, will offer to wash your clothes at his house because you got bed bugs and are having a hard time finding a laundromat. It’s the kind of place where someone will give up their home for a month to allow seven girls to have a place to live. It’s a place full of marriage proposals and little kids randomly touching you because they want to say they’ve touched a white person.

Every country holds something special, a gift from God. Every country holds people yearning to feel the love of Jesus Christ. And my job for the next year, is to assist Him and bring that love to his people. How cool is that?! However, to continue assisting, I have a ways to go before I finish raising the money I need to continue on this trip. Please, if you’re feeling lead by God, hit the “support me” button and make a donation. Thank you!
