I hope this letter finds you well and finding some relief from this terribly hot summer we've had! I just started my senior year here at West Virginia University and am enjoying it immensely (our transition into the Big 12 conference probably has something to do with that) but school is keeping me extra busy this semester.
In addition to reading textbooks and going to football games, I’ve recently been accepted to participate in the World Race, an 11-month mission trip around the world starting this July. My group will be going to the following countries: Ireland, Ukraine, Romania, India, Nepal, South Africa, Swaziland, Mozambique, Cambodia, Thailand, and Taiwan. I will be giving up my worldly possessions in order to share the love of Jesus Christ with the least of these. It is going to be an adventure of a lifetime and I know I am going to come back a changed person.
So where do you fall into all of this? Well first off, I would like to ask you to pray for me and the other participants of the trip. Pray that God keeps us safe and allows us to accomplish everything that he has set before us. Also, as you can imagine an 11-month mission trip is not a cheap endeavor and I will need to raise $15,500 in order to go. No amount of money is too small and every bit is appreciated.
So I invite you to share in this adventure with me by supporting me in anyway you can. If you would like to donate, you can click on the support me link on the left of the blog.
Also, if you receive this letter by mail, there will be an enclosed is a pre-addressed envelope and response card for financial donations. If you choose to write a check, please make checks payable to Adventure in Mission. The response card included will provide AIM with the information necessary to send you a receipt for your tax-deductible donation.
With love,
Ashlie Gosnell
