A month into the new year and I am still trying to figure out what 2013 will be for me. I have been trying to come up with all the things that I want to work at this year and all of the things that I hope to accomplish throughout the year. So I guess today is as good as a time as any to finally put down what this year is going to be about.

  1. I want to learn what freedom looks like. The freedom to love God and spend an entire year with Him is a beautiful thing. I've realized lately that there is so much freedom in this commitment.

  2. Helping put an end to Rape Culture and victim blaming. I sometimes wonder why God puts people through terrible things but this year, I am beginning to see how my voice and my experience can change the world we live in

  3. Loving the unlovable. I was reading Blue like Jazz last night and this quote came up:

“…to be in a relationship with God is to be loved purely and furiously. And a person who thinks himself unlovable cannot be in a relationship with God because he can't accept who God is; a Being that is love. We learn that we are lovable or unlovable from other people…That is why God tells us so many times to love each other.”

I want to love those who have never felt loved. I want to show people what God's love looks like. Not just on the race but in my everyday life as well. I want to learn to love like God.

  4. Learn to use chopsticks and increase my spicy food tolerance. Yes, this one is less serious but I feel like it could be just as important to my ministry in the next year. So for now, hello hot sauce and goodbye forks.

  5. Getting into shape. I want to run with the orphans, climb volcanos and mountains, and be able to jump for joy for Jesus.  I know it sounds cliche but this year, I don't want my body to put any limitations on the work I can do for God. I want to be all I can be for Him.

  6. Dig deeper into the word. I've been craving it lately, wanting to know what all is in there and what all God has to say to me in those words. I want to learn all that I can about why things were said, who they were said to, and what that means for me and the people today.

  7. Do some follow up blogs and dive deeper on the 6 new years resolutions above.

So for now, those are my "new years resolutions".  I know that I am 25 days late posting them but it is better late then never.
