For the past few months I have been praying prayers of passion-that God would set my heart so passionate for something-for just one thing. I have all these things I really enjoy doing but nothing I am overly passionate about, nothing that sticks out. There isn’t a people group I am super passionate about either. I keep asking God to show me what passion he has set a fire in my heart while I am on this trip experiencing so many ministries and different cultures/peoples. I was reading in a spiritual leadership book about ambition. The quote the great leader Count Nikolaus Von Zinzendorf (who he is, I don’t know) as having one simple ambition, “I have one passion: it is He, He alone.” I feel like that shook in my spirit when I read it. The only passion I need is for Jesus Christ! So now my prayer is changing to: ‘May You be my passion.’ When he becomes my only passion and obsession, nothing else will really matter.
I will have passion for what He has passion for.
