Where do you find a guy who is wise beyond his years? And
not the kind of guy that is so wise he makes you feel dumb, but the kind of guy
who brings you the Godly wisdom you need when you need it? A guy who is funny,
and laughs at your jokes, who genuinely cares about you and your relationship
with the Lord; a guy who has been a brother to you, a guy you can trust with
things, but also have fun with, be sarcastic with, and play jokes on? That guy
is Matt.

Matt is one of my team members-someone I upon first meeting
did not think I would get along with real well. After meeting him at training
camp, I thought we wouldn’t work well together in a group, and there we were,
on the same team. Well the exact opposite of what I thought has held true. Matt
and I are kindred spirits. We are only a few years different in age, but Matt
is wise in the Lord well beyond his years. He has incredible discernment and
knows when to push you in things and when to encourage you, he knows how to
pray without ceasing. He is an incredible Man of God whose biggest desire is to
know God more and to grow more in Him. Matt has been an incredible blessing to
me.

But Matt is in a bit of a bind. His financial situation is
not looking so great right now. There is no doubt in any of our minds that he
has been called to be on this race, and there is no way God would have brought
him this far to send him home because there wasn’t enough money. Oh no, our God
is much bigger than that. He’s got plans and provision for his son. Matt and
the rest of the team fully trust the Lord is going to provide for him. But here
is the issue. Because of Matt’s financial situation, he has to take time out
every week to be writing extra blogs, making phone calls, sending e-mails, all
of that stuff, to raise money. This guy brings so much to our team, and to have
him out of ministry for this is the last thing anyone wants. Would you please
be in prayer for Matt? We are already covering him with prayer and having Trust
in the Lord. But we need God’s great work to happen. No one knows where the
money is going to come from, just that some how it is going to come. And the
sooner the better, that way Matt is able to forget about the money situation
and focus on what God has him hear to do (which is mostly ministering to his
team). This is one of the biggest things on my heart right now. I have never
had a brother, and Matt, along with a few other guys, have really stepped into
that role and shown me what is it like to have a man looking out for you, praying
for you, and protecting you. And not only that, but him and the others have
shown me what a man of God looks like.
