I just can’t do it. I’ve tried, I really have. But every single time I sit down to write a legitimate blog, I go blank and nothing comes out. There’s so much to say that I simply cannot formulate it into sentences. There are six SEVEN incomplete Word documents in my “Blogs I Want to Write” folder and they’re just sitting there, chillin’ on my desktop. I’ve even tried to sneakily pacify you by posting blogs with pictures and journal entries. (Who am I and why can’t I write?)

Here is an assortment of thoughts that I would like to share with you, my favorite people in the world:

·      I’ve been memorizing scripture. I started with Psalm 91 and it’s my favorite Psalm. I’ve memorized other short verses and now I’m moving on to whole books of the Bible. Funny how Jesus increases your ability to do things when you’re doing it for Him. Anyhoo- it’s a fun, challenging, and very beneficial activity that I would high recommend to anyone.

·      The Philippines might be my favorite country. Ask me again once I’m in Central America.
·      Our team lives a mile or so from the base camp of our ministry. Therefore, we’ve been given a mode of transportation to use for the month. It’s an SUV. Yes, a real live vehicle. And yes, we take turns driving it. It’s our new found freedom and we love every second of it.
·      We have three meals a day cooked for us. It’s heavenly.
·      Twice a day, we feed people in the community and I cannot get enough of it. We drive into a village, open up the back of a van, and serve food to anyone who is willing to bring their own bowl/plate/cup. To watch 20+ kids running toward you, ecstatic about the meal they are about to receive… there just aren’t words.

·      Oh, in case you haven’t seen on my Facebook, there’s a spa here. Filipino ladies work in the spa that is ON OUR MINISTRY SITE and every service someone pays for, feeds a family for a day. Let’s just say, I’ve been feeding LOTS of families. They call it “suffering for Jesus.” It’s a hard life, but someone’s gotta do it. Besides, it’s just one more way Jesus is spoiling us. (I love my King.)
·      There’s a Chili’s (my favorite place on earth) 20 minutes from here AND it's connected to a Starbucks (my best friend Amy's favorite place on earth). This may or may not have to do with our love for the Philippines.

·      Apparently, LICE is the lately fashion around here. All the girls are doing it. (Yay us!)

·      I’m not really sad, but some days I wake up and just really want to be sitting on my mamma’s couch, eating dinner and watching a movie with her.

Well friends, I suppose that’s all for now.

Peace, love, and lice treatments,
Ashli
