Someone on my squad suggested we tell 50 things about ourselves. So here goes…

1. I have no idea where to start. So I'll say this: I'm really bad at starting things. Like blogs, e-mails, speeches, research papers, etc.

2. You can read Emily Kutz's blog (right here http://emilykutz.theworldrace.org/?filename=fifty-things-about-me-for-my-squad) and apply almost ALL of it to me. I think we're the same person.

3. When I think about the way I always envisioned my life to go, I cannot believe I'm 25 and (1) still single (2) without kids (3) not a career woman (4) about to backpack across the planet! The funny thing? I'm TOTALLY ok with all four of those.

4. The night before we launch, I will be a COMPLETE wreck. And by wreck, I mean an emotional freak. So please consider yourselves warned.

5. While I consider myself independent, I am so very sad to leave my parents for a year. God is doing some serious teaching there.

6. Even though I don't use a lot of it, I don't feel pretty without makeup. God is doing some serious teaching there.

7. I don't love unconditionally and it annoys me. God is doing some serious teaching there.

8. I can't wait to touch a giraffe.

9. I am so inappropriate.

10. I forget that there are social boundaries. And even when I remember them, I just don't acknowledge them.

11. Sometimes, I care too much what others think about me.

12. Sometimes, I should care more what others think.

13. I like wine.

14. I really, REALLY looooovveee it when people love me despite my super loud laugh, inappropriate tongue, and sometimes awkward gestures and dance moves.

15. Oh yeah, I laugh so loud. And don’t normally apologize for it.

16. I love food. But I’m scared of what I might have to eat on the race.

17. I want a tattoo but I’m such a freaking chicken.

18. Call me crazy, lazy, or whatever you want but I have NO desire to kill myself climbing the corporate ladder.

19. I feel like the Lord has taught me so much in such little time and I want to share that with others. But I can never seem to put it all to words.

20. I like to text in #hashtags

21. I love Spanish so much. I speak it so much better in my dreams than in reality.

22. There is a little boy in Haiti named Emmanuel. And if God said it was ok, I would drop World Race and my job with Marriott and everything to else to do nothing but be his mom and love on him 24/7. I miss him more than I can describe to you.

23. I have never broken a bone or had to have surgery. (Apart from wisdom teeth and tonsils)

24. I use the word “literally” way too much.

25. My friends say I’m bossy. But it’s all in good fun, of course.

26. Some people call me a gypsie soul. Some call me a nomad. Some think I have commitment issues and others just call it irresponsibility. Regardless, I like to think I simply take life one day at a time. Literally.

27. I’m all about some irresponsibility. Who cares? Live a little.

28. My degree is in Hospitality and Tourism Management, it’s the funnest major EVER.

29. I am unstable, insecure, and unimpressive. (As my profile states)

30. I believe in being transparent and sharing our struggles with others. I may or may not be a little too transparent sometimes.

31. I love me a good worship service.

32. But I’d rather be on the street with homeless dudes and prostitutes.

33. I used to think homeless people were my thang. Now I think orphans are. But God says everyone should be our thang… so whatev… He’s the boss.

34. I’m OBSESSED with Jen Hatmaker (if you don’t know her, google her right now. Right this second. And love her as much as I do.) And JAIME THE VERY WORST MISSIONARY. I might love Jaime more, but don’t tell Jen.

35. Sweet heaven 50 is A LOT.

36. I can be serious, but I prefer not to be.

37. I love to sing so much. But for your own sake, hope that you never hear it.

38. I just realized I “love” a lot of things.

39. I get bored with things easily, so I change my profile pictures and cover photos often. I also change the layout and pics on my personal blog.

40. It’s http://onedayweshallknow.blogspot.com/ if you want to follow it. (I mean, I think you should. Since we’re friends and all)

41. I’m really excited to gain so many brothers-in-Christ. I mean, duh I’m pumped about you sistas too, but brothers bring a new perspective to the table. (And if we’re at MY table, there will be food.)

42. I have zero plans to work out anymore than I already do in preparation for the race.

43. I never workout anymore.

44. I used to be an athlete and I like to think I still am. Please don’t tell me any different.

44. I LOVE movie quotes.

45. There may be things that you need to remind me of everyday for 3 months. But we’re close like that, right?

46. I’ll be honest. I’m not ok with the thought of not showering for more than 2 days.

47. When I’m in the US, I’m a fairly maintenanced girl. On a weekend trip, I may take several outfits. But send me on a mission trip for two weeks and I can make 5 outfits work.

48. I’m excited to call myself a missionary.

49. I used to be frustrated at God for putting missions on my heart but not burdening me with any certain place or people group.

50. Now I know why. Thank you, Father, for World Race.
