Yep I know what your probably thinking, we just taken time off to go on holiday, but you’d be very wrong indeed.
We are into month 6 of the race and the 3rd and last country of Africa before all change again. We are in South Africa this month in a beautiful little place called Jeffrey’s Bay, I’m sure you’ve probably heard of it, if not, look it up! It is stunning!
This month me and my team have the amazing opportunity to work alongside some of our other team mates with a ministry called Global Leadership Academy.
This organisation provides education and training for children of primary school age right through to their late teens and building relationships in the community through local projects.
Our first few days here have been amazing, we had split out teams up between manual labour at the school and the same in the community. Me and a few of the other girls have been wood treating logs for a log cabin they are building at the school. The hope is that this house will be able to host future missionaries and teams like ourselves (so cool!)
In the afternoons we serve in a local community project called bests and books. Their vision is provide a space where the children in the community learn more about Jesus and provide support in their educational needs and teach all through musical instruments. Some of the students play violin, piano and guitar and some of our team members have been able to assist and teach in these music lessons.
We have loved the first couple of days with the children who come, they are full of energy, love playing games and love making wonderful hairstyles with our hair 😉
I have a few prayer requests that I would really appreciate prayer for:
I feel I’m in a season of unknown and that new things are coming for me but I don’t know what they are yet. Pray for perseverance for me that I don’t become weary in all this.
Second for our team, we still have find it unbelievable that we are 6
months in to this crazy adventure and have 5 more to go. Would you pray for us that we seek after the Lord in everything we have and He has for us, that we wouldn’t become distant to those we see in front of us, that life doesn’t become routine, that the Lord would continue to surprise us everyday.
