It has been too many weeks since I've posted. Can I please start off with an apology? Sorry for falling off the grid friends! It's been a struggle these past few weeks. I was home sick all last week, the week before I pretty much took off from everything World Race related. After a 3 day mini but awesome vacation with my girlfriends I realized how much energy I have been putting into race prep, and how incredibly good it felt to take a break from it all. The week before that I was slammed at work, just so absolutely incredibly busy I was working till 8pm just so I could feel good about coming in the next day.
I just realized that none of the above really matters. Here's what does. I've been avoiding writing another post, because I have so many ideas of how to make this GREAT that I got distracted, discouraged, intimidated whatever into not writing at all. I have this thing about perfection, you see, I still, all evidence to the contrary, believe perfection is achievable. How CRAZY is that?!? What I really have been wanting to do is say a huge, ginormous, incredibly big THANK YOU to each and every person who has been helping, donating and praying for me. Here are a few of the amazing people in my life that are encouraging me to drop everything and live abroad for a year, helping others. Thank you for enabling me to go out and do this!!!
Uncle Lonnie, thank you for your generosity, and humility in not even telling me you were donating anything. Uncle Kelly for the best most encouraging conversaion I've had with anyone in the past several weeks. I love your reminder that it is ok if fundraising is low and I have to spend every cent I have to go on this trip, cause I'm young and can always start over when I get back! Thanks to Grammie, because I love how clse we've gotten in the past few years, and for makign me giggle so darn much.
Cousen Brandon and Uncle Randy for spending an hour on the phone with me lookign up addresses, Auntie M for her sweet messages.
Sonie, Dave and Denise and Christa for your INCREDIBLE donations to my yard sale. Thank you so much for going through your stuff and making time to help me get it!
Thank you Erica, Kellyn, Jessi, Aunt Lisa, Becky, Sarah and especially Mr. Dakota for comgin over last Friday to help me design jewelry for my upcoming art show on October 7th. You all showing up on a Friday night, tired from a weeks work, to help me craft even if you think you're not crafty (I have proof now, you are!) ment the world to me. I was down last week from being sick and so tired, having so many friends take the time to help, I mean, just awesome, you all are awesome.
Thanks to Dianne at Horizon for encouraging me to tell people in children's ministry about what I am doing and allowing me to leave fundraising stuff up in her office. Dianne, I finally took a picture of me that is more recent than 2005, I will bring it in this weekend! Thank you to Deborah for offering to host my art show at her lovely abode, I am getting so excited!
Finally, thank you to everyoen who is praying over me and my trip. I can both really use and really appreciate your prayers!
