Hello friends, family, and strangers!!
Who am I? Well, here are some things you should know right away:
- I love Jesus!!
- When I’m not at school or church, I am most likely taking a nap or looking for a snack in the pantry
- I enjoy being outside, writing, and baking
- My favorite foods are tacos, fried rice, mac and cheese, and sweets of course
- I love everything yellow: bananas and sunflowers specifically:)
- One day, I will own a farm with a garden and tons of animals
Okay, now let me tell you some more.
My name is Ashley Hansen. Currently, I am seventeen years old but in June, I will be eighteen. I was born and raised in northern Virginia. I grew up with my mother, step-father, two brothers (one older and one younger), and two pups. After Nepal, I will be attending James Madison University, majoring in special education.
I have always known Jesus but it was not until I got older that I realized, He knows me too. I saw Him in everything. Throughout high school, I suffered with major depression. It was a sign from Him and He was telling me “You are not on the right path” and “You are distancing yourself from me”. My eyes were opened, once I listened to Him, He saved me. That was the hardest time in my life and He didn’t give up on me, instead He gave me His hand. From then on, I devoted myself to sharing His great love. What better way to share His love than to travel to Nepal to do it? Exactly, there isn’t one! I am so excited to have this opportunity to be the hands and feet of our savior, Jesus Christ.
