We’ve been in Istanbul for a little over two weeks now. We have been part of a prayer and worship group that means every morning to pray for Turkey, the Church, and the Middle East. It’s been amazing to be a part of this.
Each morning we start with worship for about thirty minutes. Then people take turns coming to the front and praying for the topic of the day. One unique thing that I have enjoyed is that the worship leaders will turn each person’s prayer into a short chorus which the whole gathering then sings together. After that, there is “rapid fire” prayer, which is a chance for anyone to come up and pray for 10-15 seconds. Next there is small group prayer, and then usually more worship. After that, the next two hours are a time of personal Bible study and prayer while a worship leader still plays music up at the front. I’ve learned a lot during the past two weeks of being in this group and I’m so grateful that our team got to be a part of it.

The group also does homeless outreach and provides for the needs of the community. There are also weekly English classes which we have been able to participate in. We even got to do some babysitting! One of the couples here has an adorable little girl.

Please continue to pray for Turkey and the group here that faithfully prays week by week for the same topics. Pray that they will see change in the world around them and that we will all see change worldwide. Pray for faith and endurance.

We start the Camino soon and I’ll be putting up a prayer list of what I’ll be praying for day by day. I’m going to ask everyone to join me in prayer over those things. So if there is something you’d like to add to the list, please let me know! Thank you!
