Today I signed into my blog
And looked at my account
And paused for just a moment
As I looked at the amount.
There was a gift in there that I
Did not anticipate
Ten days ago you sent it
So it told me by the date.
But who would give without a name?
I thought about it hard
And felt a twinge of sorrow
That I could not send a card.
Instead I’ll write a poem which
I pray that you will read
So I can tell you thank you
For providing for my need.
I don’t know why you chose to keep
Your name all under wraps
Best friend or total stranger?
I will never know, perhaps!
But today you made me smile
Giving to my trip next year
The date I leave’s approaching
It is drawing ever near.
I pray that God might make it known
To you now deep within
How thankful that I am and
What a blessing you have been.
