You guys, I got to go to a waterfall in Thailand.
We drove for many hours to get there (probably a few more than necessary due to traffic and bathroom stops). Once at the national park, we hiked for about 40 minutes to the 5th level of a 7 level waterfall. It was so hot, the forest we walked through was dense and packed with mosquitos. The path was uneven and slippery, and we had to move quickly to get to the water before the park closed.
But then, we came upon the 5th level, and saw this:
And the long drive, the arduous hike, and the many mosquito bites faded from my mind as I jumped into the cold, clear water. We made it and it was beautiful and more than I could have asked for.
Then I thought: this is just like getting to the fullness of heaven. We live our lives and sometimes there are delays or bumps along the way. Sometimes we get hung up, or attacked by annoyances, pain, or setbacks. It’s hard and we have to work for it. But then someday, we will enter the fullness of heaven and it will be beautiful and perfect and more than we ever imagined.
My teammate Mikayla reminded me that we already get to experience a piece of heaven here on earth. As believers, we get to walk with Jesus and be used by God to bring his Kingdom near.
Where do you see heaven on earth in your life? In what ways is God using you to further his Kingdom? Do you know Jesus, and if not, do you want to?
Shoot me an email/message/facebook thing with your answers. I’d love to talk to you more about all of it!
Momma, Dad, Sarah, LB, Aussie, and Skouty- I miss you and wish I could squeeze all of you tight. Thailand is beautiful and I want you to come back with me so we can jump and play n this waterfall together! I love you so much!!!
