Team True North finally got a new member to even out our ranks (4 girls, one dude until now!) and we got a name change!
I know more about my teammates now, so I can write new things about them! I am so in love with this team. They are exactly who I need for this portion of my World Race journey. They bring so much laughter, insight, and accountability and are some of my dearest friends. We are now called, “Gospel Juice.” Ask Matt or Kyle…they have the best explanation!
Tate
Our leader…she still leads with service and humility. Tate is so funny and goofy. She does a spot on Wednesday Addams impression, loves all things fluffy and cuddly, and still rocks it on a moto. Tate has the most incredible stories of how God shows up exactly when needed. Tate is an encourager and always believes the best in others. She is like our proud “momma” and beams when we do anything good. Tate is the ultimate cheerleader and reflects the joy, love, and light of Christ.
Paige
She is only quiet until she is comfortable with you, and then she has so much wisdom and humor to share. Paige is a servant, and loves to teach. She has taught us so much about the world, history of the places we’ve been, and so much about God’s Word. Paige is intuitive and knows when you need a hug or a steadying hand on the back. Paige is a judgment free friend, and steadfastly loves and prays for every one of us. Paige is constant and kind and is the type of person you want around always.
Matt
Matt is still our pun and summaries master. He’s got dad jokes for days and can rock out on the uke. Matt’s main objective in life is to live like Jesus and learn and share people’s stories. Matt is a great encourager and makes me smile, even when I don’t really want to. Matt is the “little brother” of our team and never misses an opportunities to cheer us on or lead us into something fun.
Janine
Janine is still a laugh machine. Janine LOVES kids…every time we turn around, she has a baby in her arms or kids swarming her. Janine is bold and is the first to step up to fill holes, volunteer to lead songs with kids, or give an impromptu message at church. We joke that one of Janine’s spiritual gifts is enthusiasm/energy. She is like the energizer bunny and can chase, jump with, and play with kids all day long. Janine so evidently mirrors the friendship that Jesus offers each and every one of us.
And KYLE
Kyle is our newest member. He was added to our team at the end of January and we are so pumped to have him. Kyle is a deep thinker and leads our team in really awesome discussions. Kyle is intentional and seeks to build relationships with everyone. His identity is firmly rooted in Christ and he seeks to help all people know that for themselves.
Gospel Juice as a team seeks to embody the character of Jesus, love people where they are in ways they understand, and make the most out of every moment we have been given. As a team we are steady, funny, easy going and up for adventure any time. These people are strong, filled with compassion, and calculated in their pursuit of God and people.
Our parents come in JUST 7 DAYS! And then we head to SOUTH AMERICA!!! As Gospel Juice wraps up our time with our ministry (check out the next blog), please join us in prayer for the following things:
-Funding for the ministry we are with this month and funding for future expansion projects (there are 60 underfunded children at the Christian school, and a need for equipment, land, and buildings)
-Safety and health as we travel through a handful of countries and across the ocean to get to Bolivia (can we talk about a 3 day travel “day”? LOL)
-Health as we adjust to living the month of March at an altitude above 13,000 feet! Woo mountains!
-The addiction rehabilitation center we will be paired with next month (and the patients seeking healing there)
Momma, Dad, Sue, LB, Aussie, and Skouty- I love you and miss you so much. Kiddos- 133 sleeps until I get to squish you so tight your guts come out. Mom and Dad-7 DAYS!!!!!
