After Hectors disappearance, many countless minutes were spent finding a new piglet! And on September 20, 2017 Wilbur was born/bought, and this is part of his story…
I have already experienced many adventures in Romania and the mainland of Greece, but the majority of this month in Greece I will spend inside a camp. This camp is not always the most joyful experience, in fact the other day Ashley, Alexis, and I had to escort a young family to the doctors office shortly after their arrival. As Ashley carried the 2 year old girl up the hill I could feel her entire body burning up, since I whined enough for Ashley to carry me as well. We tried to walk quickly as possible, but then the mother motioned that she was pregnant and had to slow down for a bit. The three year old son was bored and just wanted to wander off. We did make it to the doctors office where the young girl was added to the list of pediatric fever. We sat and tried to comfort them while we waited. They eventually were able to be seen, so we waited outside for them. While we were waiting there was another young family waiting to be seen. There was a two year old boy, hhis mother, and his older cousin. I watched the energetic little boy running around and hitting things, but then he had a meltdown when his mom wouldn’t let him play with a rope that was on the ground. At first his reaction made me sad, but then I convinced Ashley to let me go out and try to comfort him. At first I just stood near Alexis on the bench and watched him. Then I began to jump around so he would notice me. He then stopped crying and came over to play! I had a great time being thrown around and loved on, but I think Ashley had a few moments when she thought she would lose me! He eventually got bored of me so I just went back in Ashley’s belt. The rest of the day was spent sitting at a gate and checking people’s papers to see where they belonged…and that was only my first day in Greece, so I can’t wait to see what new adventures are ahead!
Wilbur will not be able to share any pictures inside the camp this month due to the rules, but we will hopefully be exploring some of the surrounding areas on our days off!
