Life Update!!

I’ve been back home in the US for three weeks now. Most of my time has been spent resting, being present with my family, and catching up with friends with very little time here on social media. Well, I think it’s about time for a little life update and a big announcement about what’s next…

December: This month is dedicated to spending time with friends and family, processing the past year, praying about the future, being present with the ones I love, and resting in His presence.

January: The first week I will be back in Georgia with my squad. We have the opportunity to gather together to recap the previous year and encourage each other as we move forward. The rest of the month will be spent preparing for an exciting journey to Rwanda.

February-April: Beginning in the second week of February through the middle of April I’ll be serving with HopEthiopia/Rwanda in Rwanda. This is the local ministry my team worked with when we were there this past June. I’m so excited and thankful to be partnering with them for this season.

May & beyond: Who knows?!?! The Lord does, and I trust He will show me each step along the way. I don’t need to know where I’m going because I trust the ONE who’s leading me <3

You can help…

PRAYER

Pray that I will stay close to Jesus- ALWAYS. Pray that I will be both uplifting and uplifted by those in my community. Pray that I will continue to live life on a mission both here and anywhere the Lord leads me. Pray for the details to fall into place in regards to RWANDA planning.

FUNDS

I’m needing to raise about $4,000 in order to serve in Rwanda next year. This will include my flight, food, lodging, local transportation, traveler’s health insurance, as well as personal & ministry supplies. Tax-deductible donations can be made to Bradford Baptist Church earmarked with my name or given to me personally either in person or via PayPal ([email protected]) or Venmo (@Ashley-Smith-886).

ENCOURAGEMENT

Living life on a mission isn’t easy. It’s hard keeping the fire and pressing on when you’re tired or discouraged. I’d love to hear from you all either in person, here on social media, or by text, email, etc. Tell me that you’re praying for me. Send me a verse. Write a little note of encouragement. I love that stuff, and it really means a lot.

Stay tuned…

I’m currently working on a brand-new website where I will share blog posts and life updates as I seek to live this life on a mission. Current blog subscribers will be automatically be subscribed, and others will have the opportunity to join in on the fun once the site is live.

Soon, I hope to share with you more about my heart behind this journey back to Africa, what it’s like to currently be home, things I learned last year, and what I’m currently doing in the form of blog posts.

Fundraising… look forward to posts about adopting jars to collect change and other creative ways you can help fund this next journey.

As always, thank you for unwavering support!!

“For men’s hearts are just like the soil that drinks up the showers which often fall upon it. Some soil will yield crops as God’s blessing upon the field. But if the field continues to produce only thorns and thistles a curse hangs over it and it will be burned. Having said that, beloved, we are fully convinced that there are more beautiful and excellent things, which flow from your salvation.

For God, the Faithful One, is not unfair. How can he forget the work you have done for him? He remembers the love you demonstrate as you continually serve his beloved ones for the glory of his name. But we long to see you passionately advance until the end and you find your hope fulfilled. So don’t allow your hearts to grow dull or lose your enthusiasm, but follow the example of those who fully received what God has promised because of their strong faith and patient endurance.” Hebrews 6:7-12
