Hey everyone! Thanks for tuning in to my next blog! It’s all about my first three countries our squad will be traveling to! If you have more specific questions feel free to ask so I can update the blog!

Let’s get started!

PHILIPPINES!

Country Flag –

The flag of Philippines

Geological Location –

A map of Philippines class=

Known for its diverse terrain of mountains, volcanoes, and beaches, the Philippines is a popular haven for tourists. A melting pot of cultures, religion, and tradition, the beautiful people of the Philippines are very diverse, with influences from America, Spain, and other Asian countries. More than a getaway for Westerners, this 7,000 island archipelago is home to many who earn less than 15 cents per day—giving them the status of “ultra-poor.” To survive, some have resorted to prostitution and human trafficking.

Population – 104,256,076

Currency – Philippine Peso

Language – Filipino/Tagalog and English

Religion –

Catholic 83%

Protestant Christian 7%

Muslim 5%

Other 5%

My prayer for the Philippines –

I pray that as we launch into our first county, the Lord would unite our team. I pray He would give us bold confidence that would last the course of the whole race. I pray God would set a fire in our souls and give us the desire to spread the gospel well. I pray He would set up appointments for our month there that only our team could accomplish. I pray He would soften the hearts of people in the Philippines to receive the Gospel. I pray the work we do there would be kingdom glorifying work and we would inspire change for the generations to come.

THAILAND!

Country Flag –

The flag of Thailand

Geological Location –

A map of Thailand class=

Behind Thailand’s beautiful beaches, its people’s smiling faces, and the tropical jungles lies a terrible secret: modern day slavery. In Buddhist culture, women work to support their families so men can earn spiritual merit as monks. Many parents send their daughters to work in cities where the only option is prostitution. As the country’s natural beauty continues to draw visitors, sexual tourism continues to grow. It’s estimated 60% of tourists visit the Red Light Districts—and 90% of Thai men visit local karaoke bars for the same reason.

Population – 68,414,135

Currency – Thai Naht

Language – Thai

Religion –

Buddhist 94%

Muslim 5%

Other 1%

My prayer for Thailand –

I pray that as we enter our 2nd month of ministry, the Lord would increase our faith. That we would be BOLD in the way, we talk about Him, trusting deeply in His plans for us. I pray that He would remind our hearts of why we applied for the World Race in the first place, seeing more of His children grow to love Him. I pray for peace as we start to realize how hard goodbyes will be every month. I pray for healthy team relationships.

MALAYSIA!

Country Flag –

The flag of Malaysia

Geological Location –

A map of Malaysia class=

Located in Southeast Asia, Malaysia has one of the most competitive economies in all of Asia. Known for the tallest twin towers in the world, the Petronas Towers, it is a rising power in our global economy. With a large number of immigrants from India, Thailand, China, and Burma, Malaysia is culturally rich, with heavy influences of Hinduism and Buddhism. However, this culturally diverse and rapidly developing nation is mostly Muslim. With 61% of the population practicing Islam and 19% claiming Buddhism, the majority of Malaysians have never heard the Gospel.

Population – 31,381,992

Currency – Malaysian Ringgit

Language – Bahasa Malaysia, English, and Chinese

Religion –

Muslim 61%

Buddhist 20%

Christian 9%

Hindu 6%

Other/None 4%

My prayer for Malaysia –

I pray the Lord would increase our desire to have more of the fruits of the spirit in our lives. Our patience would increase with each other; our self-control would grow as we ask for His will to be done, and not ours. Our faithfulness would increase in watching our ministry for this month continue. And our joy would be found in Him. I pray for the hearts of our families and friends back home who start to miss us. That they would have peace. I pray as our bodies begin to grow weak with demanding ministry He would renew us with rest.
