*gasp* Ummm sorry. It’s been a long minute since I have written a blog. We are almost at the end of our time in Malaysia, so I figured I should update you guys quick on what we did in Indonesia –

After eight days in Atlanta full of training, bonding with our leadership team, and reconnecting as a squad, we set off to Indonesia!

After three flights, a layover in Chicago, and Tokyo, we made it to Jakarta!

Indonesia was an incredible start to squad leading. I started my month in West Java in the city of Bandung with Team Culturevate. Our first day in Indonesia, we got shown around by some locals, which was such a great way to see a new city!

We worked with a couple that runs an English learning club, and I had a lot of fun making new friends. One of the girls at the English club and I became fast friends. Her name is Riz, and we had great conversations about life, faith, friendships, music, and more! She would spend a lot of her time with our team, bringing us to some of the best-kept secret spots in Bandung, and I’m so thankful to have met her!

After spending about two weeks in Bandung, my Co Squad Leader (Morgan) and I hopped on a 24+ hour bus ride to the island of Bali!

We spent a night on the Island of Nusa Penida to Sabbath and explore before finishing our time in Indonesia with Team Sinha & Fierce Five. You guys! This is quite possibly the most beautiful place I have ever seen. Or at least the top 5.

Our ministry & living conditions in Bali were a lot different from Bandung. I went from sharing a room with one person & sleeping in my own bed to sleeping in a tent outside. I went from a real toilet and shower to a bucket shower and squatty potty. It was a good reminder to never get too comfortable on the World Race 🙂 Our ministry in Bali was working with kids doing language exchange, and we spent a lot of time singing songs with them!

We also got to visit Monkey Forest one day while we were in Bali. Monkeys are most certainly not my favorite animal, especially after being chased by one this time around. At the Monkey Forest, we got to try on an authentic Balinese outfit. It was pretty fun and provided a lot of laughs for us (:

It was also really sweet to be in Bali with my friend Paige from my original squad. When we were in Malaysia back in 2018, we tried hard to make it to Bali for an adventure weekend, and it never worked out. Probably because God knew that he had this opportunity up his sleeve <3

Well, there is a quick recap of what my month in Indonesia looked like! I hope you enjoyed it! Thanks, y’all, for all your support while I have committed to being on the field again! Your prayers and financial support mean the world to me! AND GUESS WHAT! I am only 200 dollars away from being fully funded for squad leading – this is such a gift! If you want to help close that gap, you can head to my blog’s main page and click “donate!” A reminder that anyone who supports me will get a postcard in the mail from my five months in Asia with C Squad. Thank you all so so much. Sending much love from Malaysia.
