I just want to start this blog off by describing my teammates. We are an all girls team and different from each other like day and night. But every single one of them brings something to the table that makes this team stronger. I am however going to preface this by saying that we have issues as any team does, but what makes our team unique is that we’re not going down without a fight.
So for the first teammate we have Mariah. Mariah is an introvert who loves gardens, she is the biggest fighter on this team that has never once given up on this small church that is our team. In her, I have never seen a more fighting flame that is as tenacious and stubborn as she is.
My next teammate is Sam. Sam is who I like to call ‘Dear Abby’. She is one of the wisest people I know and the one that people turn to for advice, myself included. She is spunky and fun, always ready to laugh or smile.
Next we have Melody who is as pretty as her name. This girl has the Texas accent twang that fits her so well. She is the one who will always speak the truth. She has a huge heart for the team and for kids.
Also we have Megan who I would describe as someone who is so in tune with God that it is indescribable. She constantly makes me question and look at the bigger picture with my relationship with God. She may be quiet but she is mighty in her love of God. She has such a passion and fore for Jesus it’s incredible.
Last but most certainly not least we have Shannon. This girl is a quiet source of strength that I have no words for. She is the one person on my team that I don’t know as well and trying to change that, but even so, she has a type of strength inside of her that is so inspirational.
The reason why I told you about my teammates is I want you to get an idea of what they bring to this team. Each person is unique and special and our personalities are so different. The reason why I love this team is because even though we did not choose each other, we are making it work. It’s not perfect yet and it never will be, but imperfections are what make us perfect. We will fight, we will argue, but no matter what we are a team.
If there are people at your work you just don’t like it despise, I want you to choose them. Because at the end of the day they are your teammate at work. My mom says something to me that has always made sense but I never really applied it until the race. She says that you don’t have to like the person, but you have to work with them. They don’t have to be your best friend but it takes more effort to be rude than it does to be nice. ( Thanks Mom)!
Choose joy, not anger because it truly does take more effort to be rude than it does to be nice.
Also we are leaving tomorrow for THAILANDDDDD WAAHHOOO!!!!
