Hey Hey!!!

So ministry is going well!

As you can see my life is full of pleasant surprises and presents haha! There’s so much that I can say about the students I am ministering and teaching but honestly I have no words. It’s too indescribable and so humbling to see how happy these kids are to learn and have an education.

So God taught me something new about him that I never realized.  In my last blog I talked about how Thai language is difficult because it is so tonal. Well, I learned how tonal God is as well. My mother could say my name a hundred different ways. She could say my name in her angry dangerous voice and I knew I was in trouble, or she could say it in a happy way and I knew that she was happy with me or she had a good day. I know when I make her happy,  I know when I make her so sad or disappointed. I know when I make her proud and excited.  My point is God has different tones for all of us because we listen.

Do you ever just take time from your busy lives to be still? To allow your mind to calm the busy thoughts running ramped through your brain? We miss so much because we simply don’t take time to be still. Do you really think you can hear God calling your name when your running around like a chicken without a head? And do you think that you can distinguish what God has to tell you in the tones of his voice if you can’t sit still.

I finally was still this past weekend and I swear I could hear God sigh in relief in my head and say finally! God will never demand your attention,  he will never scream your name. Because he’s already earned your attention. Has already earned your attention by allowing his only son to shed his blood for your sin.

Your. Sin. Not. His

It’s not God who is ignoring you it’s you that’s ignoring him. You can tune out any voice that nags you enough. I learned to tune out my mother quite well as I grew up (sorry mom) but unlike our family he will not scream or yell for us to clean our rooms or take put the dog. All he wants is you. Just you listening to him, learning the tones of his voice, but learning who he is. And I gotta tell ya….he’s really cool and really fun and actually hysterical to listen to.
