There is a saying in my family that if you do not fear something then you will never strive to do your best. What this means is that there is a difficult task set in front of you what is your initial reaction; run away or face your challenge? For some the challenge set in front of you seems easy and you can just breeze your way past it. But that is where the true challenge lies, not everything that seems easy is as simple as it looks.

To truly respect the challenge you first have to have fear the obstacle in front of you. Fear can come in many different forms; fear that you will mess up, fear that you will not complete the challenge, fear that you cannot do it. However the one thing that fear is conquered by is courage. Because you cannot have one without the other. Courage is fearing something but having the ability to saying to yourself I’m still going to do this, I am going to do this.

For any racer going on this nine month or eleven month journey my advice for you is this, respect the journey your going on. Its alright to have fear for the unknown, for leaving your family and friends. But overcome that fear and challenge yourself to find the courage to embrace the changes your life is going to become. Have the courage that God set you on the right path because you would not be this far along in this journey without His grace and guidance.
