God is funny sometimes. He brings people into our lives in odd ways occasionally. We’re living at this compound in Haiti this month and they have mission teams that come in to work for a week at a time and then leave. This past week these two guys from Colorado were here and were working with my team up in a mountain village. As soon as they got off the bus I felt called to befriend them; just basically drawn to them. So I just went with it…. As I do most things in life.
And wow, I can’t even begin to explain to you how much they impacted my life and how much they mean to me.
God really put them on my heart to just invest into and cover them in prayer the week while they were here. He gave me just an incredible amount of love for them. It’s funny what following the spirit will do.
They helped me in so many ways. We connected quickly in a way that was seriously uncanny. Our personalities meshed so well and everything with them was just easy. We spent a crazy amount of time together sitting and talking and processing out loud, praying together, serving together, salsa dancing, busting out into songs or random epic dance battles, and of course just laughing together. They helped me grow and they taught me so much about just life, friendships, and even myself.
I will forever be grateful for them in my life. And im excited to continue in conversations with them and see what the future holds.
So. You two randos from Colorado [and Jamie!] forever and always-honorary members of team 3D and 3rd generation D squad, this one goes out to you. Thank you so much for this past week. Thank you so much for allowing me to “force friendship upon you” haha. I love you more than you can possible imagine and im so blessed by this friendship the Lord has given us.
Love ya!
